Personality:

Kitty Pryde might have been a different person if she'd been born in a kinder, gentler world. But she was born in Apocalypse's version of paradise where the strong crushed the weak. Mutants were at the top of the food chain and humans were killed quickly if they were very, very lucky. Still, there was resistance and Kitty Pryde was part of that. Specifically, she'd been helping to train the next generation of mutants who had shucked off the privileges of their birthright to protect the humans, and more importantly, to take Apocalypse down.

Her husband, Colossus, is the most important person in her life. And while her students would never know this, they are almost as important. She is hard on them to the point of being abusive because she knows the world is a hard place and you have to be hard to survive it. And she does want them to survive.

She is one of the "good guys" but she's far from sweet and innocent. She likes to smoke and enjoys her sarcasm and can be remarkably stubborn. She can also lose herself a bit to the thrill of a fight, and she's not afraid to be cruel to be kind. But underneath it all she cares deeply about the people in her life and as hardened as she has become she is still a hero. She will still put her life on the line to save someone. She just might weigh the risk and rewards first. Pragmatism is the new idealism in Apocalypse's world.

Abilities:

Her mutant ability is the power to phase herself. This means she can slip the atoms of her body around the atoms of other objects and people allowing her to pass through them harmlessly except in the case of electronics which she disrupts. She can extend her power to affect anything she is in physical contact with. She can also use it to "air-walk" which simulates flight to a degree. However, it is less effortless than most unaided flight. It is more like walking up a flight of stairs and then along a sidewalk. Especially dense materials, generally extraterrestrial in nature, can cause additional strain in the use of her powers.

She is also extremely intelligent and especially gifted in the field of computers and technology where she would be considered a genius. However, most of her training and attention has been on honing her physical skills. She was also unable to attend a regular school after the age of thirteen.

Kitty has been trained as an assassin by Weapon X (Wolverine in the regular timeline). She is proficient in several forms of martial arts and is very agile and acrobatic. Her strength is that of a well trained human girl and nothing more, but she applies what strength she does have well. She also wears gauntlets on each wrist with retractable blades similar to Weapon X's which she uses for offensive purposes.
