Basics: Nunnally is a cute, wheelchair-bound girl with really, really long light brown hair and the periwinkle eyes of the Britannian royal family. Her clothing is usually either pink, really frilly, slightly Sweet Lolita influenced, or any combination of the three. If she could stand up, it would be more noticeable how short she is; she's only 5'1" or 5'2". And considering how Lelouch fails at all physical activity but can pick Nunnally up with no no seen problems, she probably doesn't weigh very much, either.

Britannian is her native language, so she won't have huge problems communicating with other English speakers (it would probably be like the differences between British and American English). Her normal reading and writing skills are a little rusty, and her handwriting leaves something to be desired, but she's been blind for so many years that reading Braille feels more natural. Nunnally can speak Japanese, but since she learned it after Marianne's assassination, she can't read it at all.

Her birthday is October 25 and she is a Sheep/Scorpio.

Personality: Despite all that she’s been through and all that’s been taken from her, Nunnally is an extremely kindhearted and cheerful person. Her remaining friends and family are very important to her and are in fact the reason she hasn’t become bitter and cynical. Nunnally has just as much reason to hate Charles and what Britannia stands for as any of the Black Knights, but the fact that she just wants everyone to get along is why people love her and aren’t so awkward in her presence. The small things in life delight her, and while many in her position would have begged for full contact with a favorite sibling, Nunnally was okay with just getting mail from Euphy.

Euphinator incident aside, Nunnally and Euphy will almost certainly remind people of the other. Both of them believe that a gentler world can be created from within and without violence, and it is this and her love for her sister that leads Nunnally to recreate the Special Administrative Zone when she becomes the Viceroy/Governor/whatever title the subs you watch choose. They’re both sheltered, but Nunnally has a better sense of realism when dealing with people. While everyone is good until proven otherwise to her, she can perceive past her ideals and (most of the time) avoid being manipulated. She is aware that Mrs. Lohmeyer tends to downplay negative effects of laws or projects on the Japanese and is adamant that the document in question be rewritten until it causes the least amount of discomfort possible. Despite her normal gentleness, Nunnally is extremely strong-willed when defending her beliefs; though unlike others around her, she will not hurt people in the process unless it is a very, very last resort. Her willpower is what makes her a formidable opponent to anyone who uses mind-control; she was able to break the part of her father’s Geass that made her blind in a moment of desperation and she initially resisted Lelouch’s command longer than anyone else.

Because of selective showing throughout the timeskips near the end of R2, it is unknown what Schneizel and Cornelia said to, did, or showed Nunnally that made her turn on Lelouch. It’s clear she wasn’t willing to believe them until she had a chance to talk to him, but he was pretty merciless even with her. Nunnally has always battled secret feelings of being useless, and after he told her that he hated people who talked like she did with clean hands, she asked for the detonation switch/key to FLEIJA. I honestly believe she didn’t want Lelouch and Suzaku to die even though that was a very realistic outcome of the final battle…she’s just a girl who loves people too much and couldn’t think of any other way to save the world than using force or trying to talk some sense into said Brother after using force. But it doesn’t change the fact that a lot of people died and she and Schneizel (or whoever was aiming it) share the blame for it. There’s always going to be lingering guilt over this entire incident both from using FLEIJA and failing to see through Zero Requiem, but Nunnally would use it constructively, doing all she can to prevent a similar situation from arising ever again.

When the world isn’t in immediate danger, brother-sister relationships are completely different. Nunnally is usually incredibly devoted to Lelouch. She won’t forgive people who go out of their way to make him unhappy and watching him die practically in her arms is a trauma to beat all traumas. When she said her wish would be for a gentler world back in the first season, at that point it had never occurred to her that things could have come to this, and she would rather live in a situation where she was in danger as long as they were together. Given that Acumen’s grabbing her from right after someone’s had the sense to cart her away from the parade float, she’s going to be making an extra-special effort to make everything up to him and to not complain no matter how bad it gets.

But complaints are not her forte anyway. Nunnally dislikes troubling people and making them worry about her, so she’s much more likely to try to hide negative feelings behind a smile or redirect the conversation away from herself. Unfortunately, she’s a terrible, terrible liar and while she can keep a secret, she is definitely not the one you send to distract someone while you set up their surprise birthday party. Her emotions show on her face more than she’d like, and the difference between her expression when she’s alone and when her friends are with her is like night and day. Long monologues don’t suit her and she has little command of fancy rhetoric; what you hear is what you get. It leads people to underestimate her, but Nunnally is not afraid to assert her authority if people are depending on her. It can’t have been easy for her to have Kallen removed from her prison cell and actually treated decently, and I don’t think she would have passively accepted it if Kallen was sentenced to death.

She makes friends pretty easily, but Nunnally is incredibly socially sheltered and very easy to manipulate in that area…which usually works to Milly’s advantage because Nunnally rarely understands why her brother is so upset over something that’s supposed to be fun. If you ask her to wear a maid dress and cat ears because it’s good for marketing, she won’t understand what you mean but will probably do it anyway.

Abilities: Due to her years of blindness, Nunnally’s other senses have become much sharper. She can recognize people she knows well by their footsteps and was observant enough to note that Arthur the cat was limping. She also has a good memory for voices and was able to recognize Euphy’s voice after years of separation from a simple “excuse me.” Most important is her unique ability to read a person through touching their hand. She can tell whether or not someone is lying, and in an extreme case was able to see through Zero Requiem. However, she's pretty good at reading people just through their voices, so even if you're Lelouch and you lie to her, you may not always be successful. Nunnally also arguably has the strongest will in the series; she is the only character to successfully break a Geass with no outside help and was able to initially resist Lelouch’s command longer than anyone else. She can't defend against mind reading, but any other attempts to mess with her head in that way may not always be successful if she wants to fight it.

According to Lost Colors, with Sayoko’s help to manage the cutting and any frying, Nunnally was able to make good onigiri. With a patient teacher, she can learn various origami models, and when she teaches someone how to fold a crane, she can tell by sound if they’re doing it right (also from Lost Colors).More surprisingly, Sayoko also taught her some non-curse (at least, we hope) basics of straw doll magic. And no, she isn’t aware that Lelouch will probably have a heart attack if he ever catches her using it.

Since Sunrise neglected to mention it, I take the interpretation that Nunnally’s legs are not paralyzed but are much more difficult to move than healthy legs and will not support her. She is capable of returning to the wheelchair from the floor by herself, though it’s very hard and takes a while.
